ASHRAE is active globally through Society Committees as well as locally, through Chapters.
ASHRAE Society committees drive the organization's global activities, such as standards projects committees, which are responsible for the development of standards, and technical committees, which advise the Society on research needs, emerging technologies, and technical matters. ASHRAE chapters focus on developing a local community between industry professionals and stakeholders by hosting local activities to support technical education, networking, student branches, grassroots government advocacy, and sustainability projects with the community. About the Central New York ASHRAE Chapter
The ASHRAE Central NY Chapter is located in Syracuse, NY, and represents ASHRAE across the greater Central NY Area (as far north as Watertown, NY). We have over 250 members encompassing all parts of the industry, including manufacturers, distributors, contractors, students, and engineers. The Central New York chapter is one of 15 chapters in ASHRAE Region I.
Chapter History
The Central New York chapter was founded in 1941. See the history of the HVAC industry as of 1994. These eight panels were developed by our Chapter in 1994 on the 100th anniversary of the founding of ASHRAE and include many items of local history related to our industry.
